Where Does Motivation Come From

Where Does Motivation Come From?

Where does motivation come from? Good question. It come from within ourselves.where does motivation come from

People who are highly motivated have certain things in place that just motivate them. They don’t even have to try. It’s just there.

These thing they have are skills that anyone can learn. It’s basically your mindset that determines how motivated or unmotivated you will be.

We all have our own traits or things that we are good at and there are other things that can be developed.

“Confidence comes not from always being right but from not fearing to be wrong.” Peter T. Mcintyre

When we have confidence we are able to start new things without a second thought. We welcome the new. We know that we will be able to get from start to finish. Confidence grows when we accomplish one small thing that we weren’t quite sure about. And then another and another until we can feel good about taking bigger steps.

Believing in yourself

“Once we believe in ourselves, we can risk curiosity, wonder, spontaneous delight, or any experience that reveals the human spirit.” –E.E. Cummings

If you don’t believe in yourself you won’t feel like starting something because you will have some doubts. You need to know that we all fail at times and as long as you are reflecting upon those mistakes and learning from them then you will get there. Remember making mistakes is not a bad thing. It’s part of the learning process.

Stepping out of your comfort zone.

“To achieve all your set goals, be ready to get out of your comfort zone, be disciplined, focused and responsible for every decision you make in your life!”
Donald Allen

People who are motivated find it easy to step out of their comfort zone, as they know that success to whatever they want to accomplish lies just on the other side of their comfort zone. If you have trouble stepping out of your comfort zone then take baby steps. Just as long as you are making an effort to go just a little beyond where you are comfortable , you will make progress.

Being organized

“It takes as much energy to wish as it does to plan.”  Eleanor Roosevelt

People who are highly motivated are organized. They have a plan, usually on paper. But not always sometimes the organization of their plan is in their head. Either way, they know the steps they will take to get there. So each accomplishment along the way just motivates them more.

“It’s not that I’m so smart, it’s just that I stay with problems longer.” ~ Albert Einstein

When we are persistent we will keep moving forward. Motivated people see mistakes as a way of learning and they just push right by them. They know that they will accomplish what they want as long as they keep going. Giving up is never an option.

Seeing the end results

“Having the big picture in mind enables us to overcome the day to day routines that attempt to distract us from pursuing our dream.”
Assegid Habtewold

In order to be motivated to accomplish something, whether it’s an article or losing weight. You must be able to see what is in it for you. If you don’t have a end result in mind then you won’t be able to find much motivation to accomplish what you want to do.

Putting it all together

As you can see all of these skill can be developed. The higher developed they are the more motivated you will become.

Now that you know the answer to where does motivation come from , when you find you are having trouble getting motivated , try to see what areas you are falling short in and take the time to develop those skills. You will be glad you did.

Once developed you should have no issues with becoming motivated.

    Hi Gloria

Came on your website – Creatingaclutterfreemind

Very impressed Gloria – you have a lot in information on it – it is easy to navigate and you write in an easy understandable way.

For some time I have been aware of Andy Shaw and his works but have never gone any further. I get commercials from him and just simple have not gone further. I like what you say about Andy – it is nice to hear comments like that that support my “gut” – Thank you.

Thank you again – look forward to getting to know you

    Hi Gloria,
You have a very nice clean website, clutter free of ads ,lots of information. But you are not telling the story about what is Manifesting Mantra, or Self Hypnosis. It is not very inviting. I though I was going to read more, but it was a ad. I hate giving my email out.

      Hi Wendy,

I’m sorry you were disappointed with not being able to read more. The link to the manifesting mantra and the self hypnosis give more information about them and I do not own either of them. I was just linking to the page where you can download the manifesting mantra for free and use it. I understand you do not like giving out your email address, however you can just opt out of any mailing you do not want to be on. I would not link to anything that I did not think would help people. You should reconsider as I think you would enjoy both.

Great Write up on staying motivated. I think many people possess these skills but dont harness them at the same time. Sometimes staying motivated is difficult other times it is easy. I think that when it is easy we harness of these items listed at the same time.
I also think desire, want, and need also play a big part of it. If we dont desire, want or need something it is very difficult to stay motivated.
Thanks again for the great post. Stay motivated!

      Hi Marc,

Thanks for leaving a comment. I think you are right that many people do have the skills they just don’t know how to put them all together. As far as desire, want or need goes you are right, That is where we start from before motivation even comes into play,

Awesome post on where does motivation come from Gloria.
I have to say that I agree with all your points.
Believing in yourself is the big one, and while it is not always easy, it is just so important.
I have a mentor that says “confidence comes from experience” and if you just keep taking action, pushing your comfort zone, confidence and belief start to creep in.
I must admit that I have been lacking a little bit of motivation lately, and reading your post has come at just the right time 🙂

      Hi John,

Thanks for your comment. Your mentor is so right. Most people don’t understand how to put the pieces together to make it happen for them. I want this article to reach more people so they can better understand that they can change areas in their lives to make it better for them. Thanks again.

Motivation is a funny thing for me. I have a lot of it, and I have no trouble getting things starting, but I’m prone to distraction and procrastination. It takes a lot of continuous motivation to get past all of the shiny things that catch my attention. I’m glad you mentioned preparation here, I think that’s what I’m missing. Thanks for the inspiration!

      Hi Shirley,

We procrastinate when we either don’t know what we want or when we are afraid of something. If we know what we truly want then the shiny things will be of no concern to us because we will already know where we are heading. Doing mental work can really help here as you will get control of your mind. I highly recommend Andy Shaw’s materials. He is amazing and his material will be of great help.
