Finding peace inside your mind helps you to find peace on the outside too. I was just outside sitting on my porch. The sun is shining, It’s a relatively warm March day. Below me is the river. The water is calm. The trees have a beauty of their own, even without leaves on them. I look around and see and feel how peaceful just doing this has made me feel.
This is one way of finding peace within. I was out there for probably 20 minutes of just taking in everything. I did not care what anyone else was doing. I was in my own little world. I almost felt like I was one with nature.
If you want to find peace inside your mind, then find something that you can totally immerse yourself in.
Years ago, I used to take horseback riding lessons every Saturday for one hour. I can remember being so totally absorbed in riding that for that one hour, nothing else mattered. It was like my own world.
It’s like there is no worries, no stress, no anything, except for pure happiness and contentment. You are totally immersed in what ever you are doing.
If you have ever experience this feeling, you will never forget it.
If you have a hobby or something that you really like to do , then that would be a good place to start.
Some people meditate and find their peace that way. It does not matter what it is as long as it is something that you can immerse yourself in.
Finding your own peace is a great way of balancing yourself. It totally releases everything from your mind and body for however long you do it. This can mean releasing all the stress from the day or getting rid of something that is on your mind that is causing stress or tension.
The best part is you can learn to do this automatically once you know the feeling. Just looking at an object that you associate with the peacefulness you felt and bring back that feeling on demand.
If I want to bring back the peaceful feeling I just had on the porch, I can do so by associating it with trees or a river. Every time I want to feel that feeling I can remind myself to find a tree and relive that time again. After a while, just thinking about the tree will bring a smile to my face.
If you do this often enough, just by thinking about a tree in your mind will bring that peaceful feeling to you.
Have you ever thought about how different people, even small children can perform in front of large crowds? Well, they have learned to be in tune to what they are doing and for them, they are the only ones there. Yes, they know there is a huge crowd watching them, but in their mind the only thing there is , is what they are doing. There is no room in their mind to think about anything else.
This also changes your thought patterns, as negative thoughts can not live in peacefulness. If you do this on a regular basis, you will find that the outside changes too.
You will be happier, things that used to bother you will become less so. I recommend doing this as often as you can until it becomes automatic to you.
We can have peace inside our minds as much as we choose to have it there. And when we are finding peace within, we will start to see more and more peacefulness happening in our lives. We will start to be drawn to more peaceful situations and people.
What ever happens on the inside has to happen on the outside. So as you can see the benefits to finding peace within are many.
