Are You Ready For Success Or Is Your Comfort Zone More Important?
Everyone wants to be successful but being a success comes with a decision and so the question is , do you want success or comfort?
We all have dreams, some are big and some are smaller. But most of us never reach our big dreams. We may aim towards them, but somewhere along the line something happens and we never get there.
But why is that?
One of our biggest problems is we love our comfort zones. Even though we may want to improve our lives, we find it hard to step out of what feels comfortable.
But on the other side of our comfort is where our dreams begin. We have been conditioned to believe that if we feel uncomfortable doing something then we don’t go there. So we pass by things that could move us towards where we want to go.
We have the thoughts inside our heads that convince us to play it safe. Those thoughts are our egos. Our egos don’t want us to go to the unknown. It convinces us that we could be worse off then we are now. So instead of us really analyzing a situation with no emotions involved. We listen to our egos.
What would happen if we could get our egos out of the way? We would be able to really look at a situation for what it really was. Sort of like analyzing it for someone else and then finding results based on it alone.
To the degree we’re not living our dreams, our comfort zone has more control of us than we have over ourselves. Peter McWilliams
If we found it favorable, then we would just go for it. There would be no thoughts of I’m not sure I can do this or what if I fail. Those kind of thoughts come from your ego, not you.
Now you know why we see things as being risky
But have you ever thought about it another way? Doing nothing is also risky. Why? Because when we do nothing we risk missing an opportunity that may of change our whole lives.
Do you ever look back and say I wonder what would of happened if I had done such and such? Do you want to be asking that same question in 5 years from now?
Isn’t it time to make your ego step aside and let you run the show? In his book Creating A Bug Free Mind, and his other materials, Andy Shaw teaches you how to do just that.
If your ready, then make a list of all the things you want to accomplish. Even if something seems impossible, add it anyways. Now choose one thing from the list and do something that will move you one step closer to it.
Stepping just a little bit out of our comfort zone is a great way to start. Just do it little by little. Soon you will be able to take bigger steps. This is how we grow.
So ask yourself, do you want success or comfort?
Yes, stepping out of your comfort zone can take courage, but it all comes down to how much you want to succeed.
I want to challenge you today to get out of your comfort zone. You have so much incredible potential on the inside. God has put gifts and talents in you that you probably don’t know anything about.
